It was a hive of activity at the community village amid all the pomp and fun-fare, with the community village sending one clear message: CONDOMIZE!
The campaign by UNFPA to promote the use of condoms to reduce the spread of HIV has been a success as witnessed by the large crowds at the stand. The stand has proved popular with the youths and the young at heart. There was a feeling of euphoria with people dancing and having fun. T-shirts, emblazoned with the words, “CONDOMIZE” are proving very popular with delegates.
The message at the Jibilika stand was, “An HIV free generation is possible it needs you to step up to HIV, update your status, abstain and protect yourself, share the word not the virus, stay loyal, not stigma, keep calm and fight HIV”.
The community Village is the go to place if one is looking for fun filled action. Delegates could also do some shopping as there are many people exhibiting and selling their wares. The feeling at the community village is that this 18th ICASA has been a resounding success.
