On behalf of the Government of Zimbabwe, the Ministry of Health and Child Care and the Inter-Ministerial Committee, I would like to wish all conference delegates to the International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa 2015 a warm welcome to Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is a recognized conference destination in the region and the hospitality of the Zimbabwean people. The country has recently hosted the World Tourism Expo which is an annual tourism trade fair organized by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority. The country is also a member of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) as well as Chair of the UNWTO Commission for Africa (CAF) on Tourism.

Mr. W. Mzembi Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry of Zimbabwe

The Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry is the frontline Ministry responsible for overseeing international conferences in Zimbabwe. We will be working closely with the Ministry of Health and Child Care, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, and the Inter-Ministerial Committee to ensure that all delegates, particularly people living with HIV and key populations, enjoy easy, hassle-free visa application and immigration processes at all our borders, safety and security of persons and property during their entry and stay in Zimbabwe, sanctity of conference site and other designated conference venues around Harare, quality and competitive accommodation rates, quality medical facilities and services, guided tours, among others.

We will be working with national and regional partners to prepare our Team Host, including law enforcement agencies, immigration officials, media houses, etc. for the specific needs of our diverse delegates. I hereby give the highest assurances of my Ministry and the Government of Zimbabwe that all conference delegates including people living with HIV [PLHIV] and key population will be guaranteed a rich, stigma and discrimination-free and hospitable experience prior, during and after ICASA 2015.

I look forward to welcoming you all to our beautiful country at ICASA 2015.
